hmmm...what about for us ladies who dislike ties? ;)

Well, I wouldn't mind short mini-skirts and halter tops for the ladies :-P, but nothing too formal either...I saw lots of khakis and modest skirts, and you can't go wrong with a nice simple blouse...don't think of it as a formal dinner, think of it as attending a classical music concert: you don't need to look fancy, just presentable. :-D

thanks for the advice, pookdogg. ;)

also, how hard is it to renew the scholarship annually? Do most maintain it all four years?

Well, there's where my experience runs out: I just finished my first year, and scholarship renewals don't come out until later in September (we're still doing interviews and such). I've been told that as long as you attend meetings and play an active role in the organization, you're a good shot. However, we just opened up the scholarship to all campus students, increasing the applicant pool by anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 students, which, to put it bluntly, really sucks for us current Alumni Scholars. But whatchagunnado. I'll keep y'all posted about whether I get the renewal or not.

Thanks, keep us posted, and I wish you luck pookdogg! :)
