So, I've been accepted at FSU for this Fall (Comp. Crim., to be Comp. Sci. after I take Chem or Bio I) and I was researching the housing options available, particularly the non-traditional/graduate housing options. I've seen relatively good things about Ragans and Rogers Hall, but I've seen a great deal of hatred for Alumni Village. Now, I've stayed in Alumni Village before (while my mother got her Master's) and, while the property is admittedly dated, I remember there being a very relaxed atmosphere about the place, with plenty of opportunity to mingle with other tenants. Is the Village no longer like this, or is this ire due to its age?

Are you 23 years old or married? If you are an undergrad, you have to be married or 23 to live in Alumni Village. Otherwise it is Ragens or McCollum, sometimes Rogers.

I am pretty sure though that by this point that Ragans and McCollum are full. There might be an empty spot or two, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on getting either one.

FSU Housing did just send out an email a few days ago saying there were a few townhouse (4 person apartments) spots open, but they expected those to be full within 3 days- and it was about a week ago or so that I got that email.

Rogers is more likely to have spots open than either Ragans or McCollum.

Alumni Village is ok, but I wouldn’t go to all the trouble of getting married just to live there.
