I could go into many details regarding the reason I want to use them, but I think it'd only get tiring if I tried. Yes, I know italics are not effective i.e. in a dialogue in which I stress parts of it using italicized letters instead of the emphasis coming out of the text and the description themselves. (And that is not the case in which I want to use them, obviously)

Anyway! So, are there any guidelines I am missing in relation to this? Thanks in advance. Any help is appreciated.

This might bear review, but i am pretty sure that on the common app, formatting was not well ‘converted’, I think my daughter had to remove some bullet points and some “bolds” for the page to look correct. This was 2 years ago, but definately “Preview” to make sure any formatting does not make the page look screw-y.

^Seconded.

I forgot what I did for the common app, but whenever possible I try to upload in PDF to preserve the formatting.

If those formatting issues still exist, make sure the tone/message gets across without the italics.

So, I just tested it, and the italics work fine when previewing the document, so I think I will be keeping them.

Thank you everyone.
