Am i being naive?

So i'm currently a freshman at Villanova University and I'm thinking about transferring out. Without trying to sound arrogant.. i think i may be able to pull a 3.6 ish no sweat.. but am going to try to aim for a 3.8 (obviously higher the better)

I'm thinking about trying to become a investment banker so Wharton is the best choice. ive joined like 5 business clubs but i'm not sure about showing leadership since i'm only a freshman. What are my chances for any ivies plus NYU Stern?

What's your high school stats?

At 3.6:
NYU somewhat stretch
HYP stretch

Dunno bout the rest

this has to be the most ridiculously general and stereotypical post out there. please. commit harikari. asap.

3.6 and thinking of transferring to Wharton?

dude... not to make you too hopeless or anything but... you'll need at least a 3.8 to even have a SLIGHT chance.

besides, you gotta provide us with more info besides the GPA.
Top schools like Stern and Wharton isn't enough by just getting a good GPA (or even a perfect 4.0). You'll need to tell us your high school stats, including your GPA, SAT I/II scores, ECs/Volunteer, in addition to the current college stat.

And probably the most important of all, the Essay. You'd have to have a STELLAR essay. And if you want to transfer to Wharton, you better already have been doing something related to business. This does not mean merely joining a school Business or Accounting Club (Unless you are the president or is an active executive/management member of that club). It means you actually build up a real-world experience through job and internship to show that you are actually preparing yourself for the major and that you are enthusiastic about it.

good luck.

He just started his freshman year and doesn't even have grades. You don't have to berate him just yet.

But yes, you have to post your stats like dhl3 said.
