I’m nearing the deadline for Early Decision and I have been planning on applying to Wake ED all along since I love the school overall and I wouldn’t be able to get in RD.
However, with a ton of Lehigh legacy in my family I keep getting reminded how great Lehigh is with connections to businesses and getting a job right out of college. I have always just assumed Wake has good relations, but I’m kinda torn now between applying to Wake ED or just applying RD and applying to Lehigh ED 2.
I am confident I would get into Lehigh ED 2 with all the legacy my family has built up + donations. All along my plan has been going ED 2 to Lehigh since I think I will get deferred at Wake, but I don’t want to even risk it if Lehigh will be better for my future anyways.
FWIW, I want to enroll in Lehigh’s CSB program, where you get a joint degree in both CS and Business. Wake does not offer this.
I would say that in the Northeast Lehigh is a bit more well known and certainly has a bigger alumni presence. I’d guess Wake has the same advantage in its area. But nobody on this board can presume to tell you which of the two schools is the better “fit” for you.
Wake Forest students work extremely hard (it’s not called Work Forest for nothing) and they are very desirable within the field of business. The rankings of these schools are similar, so fit is important to consider. However, Wake Forest does not have direct admission and due to the grade deflation, it may be hard to be admitted into the business school. Just some things I thought would be useful to mention.
^^^^I didn’t know that you have to apply to the b-school at WF. Assuming that is the case, I do agree with @CTkid47 that having a direct admit into the business school is a factor that absolutely should be considered. I think being a direct admit to a b-school is a very good thing.
