Am I considered a California resident?

According to the UC application, to be a California resident, I had to have “attended a California high school for 3+ years.”

I moved here my sophomore year and am currently a senior drowning in my college apps. Lol.

Technically speaking, I’ve only be a resident for 2 years, right? :frowning: I’m scared that I’ll be put up against out-of-staters…

My parents live with me, pay taxes, own a house, work in CA, etc. Isn’t that enough to be a California resident? Please clarify this for me…

By the time you enroll you would have attended 3 years, so yes I would say you are. You can always call the help desk to confirm - they’re available until midnight tonight and also tomorrow.

Look on the website of any UC. There will be a section that discusses the rules for residency that you can quickly find using your favorite search engine.

yes, you would be considered a resident.

Thank you everyone!
