So, I’ve lived outside the U.S. for half of my life, and I was wondering if that categorized me as a international student. I was just wondering because I read somewhere that international students have a lower chance of being accepted. I am also an American citizen though so am I considered an international student?
You’ll be in the domestic pool for admissions & financial aid. Your country of residence, however, could be a plus or a ding for geographic diversity.
You will be in the domestic pool for financial aid, but your application will be read relative to your country of residence. My daughter went to an international school, so she was compared to students from her high school/country/region, but she would have been eligible for FA if she needed one. Cornell is need blind when it comes to admission anyway.
