welcome to CC, where the average SAT here is 2100. (maybe higher)

No, you are not crazy. Somewhere on CC (I couldn't find it just now) there is a thread that goes through top choices or something similar. If I remember correctly, as of a couple of weeks ago, the school that had the highest count was only in the high 20's or low 30's or CC posters (at least on that thread). Lets say that each of these people had outrageous stats and EC's. You are then only talking about a very small number of people compared to the actual applicant field. Only 1 week or less remaning to hear from all schools, no sense in worrying now since there is nothing more you can do My S has never read one post on CC, yet he has applied to some very competitive schools with good SAT/ACT (2080/32), good grades in challenging course load (ranked 35/550) and has reeived admits to a couple of schools already that are on many people's reach list. That mid-50% range takes into account a good spread of numbers and there's even the 25% admitted that do not have those numbers. Good luck, you are not crazy.

I'd love to see a zoomerang survey, anonymous. Anyone with an account gets an email. Other than sophmore/junior/senior, gender, and state, completely anonymous. I think a lot of people inflate their scores.

@CollegeBoundSoon-I'm sure there are many people who are only doing community service to get into college. But it's ridiculous to just assume that everyone does it because they're forced to. To some of us, it's important, and not "idiotic."

I am a masacist. I am below average here with about a 2100. Its amazing and terrible at the same time.

BUT IM ADDICTED

Addicted, yup yup!

but seriously, this is a great website for the INFOrmation, not for the kick in the self-esteem. Everyone has their own hook anyway, so it doesn't matter how crazy others are about SAT's and clubs presidents

plus, people here definitely aren't representative of the entire student population... I hope...

OP, its ironic how your stats and activities are almost exactly like mine. lol. But I wouldn't stress about either of those things as long as you have some college safeties on your list and hence will be going somewhere next year (some poor kids on this site didn't really pick their safeties too well, I'm writing them comfort posts now).

yo man, im in the same boat.... and im in canada man where there are so many more restrictions and so little clubs to join (at least in my school)... i say if u can take the many opportunities listed in ur high school and ideas of research and all that if ur interested in sciences, or doing other things related to a subject u like u should do it... but some of these kids are crazy... i started lookin down on myself when i saw my ecs compared to some of these people... and im scared for myself somtimes lol... man dont worry im in the same boat as ur (except the grades part lol, sorry i only got 3 Bs in my life LOL- but i did get expelled in elementary school and punched my middleschool principale LOL).... anyways yah man for sure, i look at some of the ECs and the ideas people portray... i wonder how people will look at a person who is a competitive boxer and displays passion for math and sciences (some people think its ridiculous and untrue) and universities might think "well this kid might become retarded if he carries on boxing"... thats the type of vibe i get with this site... but yah man just do good on SAT and try ur best in getttin good grade 10,11,12 grades man... im definitely in the same cockpit with u on the plane ride to the land of dream schools
