Am I doing this right? Help please

Hello,

I am a foreign immigrant student who came to the states in 2013, I have an unweighted gpa of 3.5 and a weighted one of 3.9, including 7 APs and with an SAT that is 1390 on the new scale, my extracurriculars range from several years of intermediate level fencing, founder and president of Arabic club and a club that has a goal of environmental change both founded in my senior year. I am also an officer at my schools young democrats club and a member who has attended a number of MUN conferences with my school, and finally I did an internship at a district senators office. With all this being said as an immigrant family from Syria my family and I aren’t completely familiar with the system in the United States so I would like your help in telling me wether looking at the schools I might want to apply for is even realistic, (btw I’m a resident in Virginia) So here is the list:
Cornell University
University of Virginia
Georgetown University
James Madison
University of Richmond
William and Mary
George Mason
NYU
I live very close to DC and was looking to study something in relation to political science. Thank you very much for the help.

You seem to be on the right track with your AP courses and extracurricular activities. How are your grades/GPA? Your SAT score seems to be a little low, so maybe you can consider retaking it?
Also, a major part of college admissions is based on the essays, so look online for examples and keep working hard!

Thank you so much for the replay while my GPA is not a 4 that was mainly due to low grades I got freshman and sophomore years but in all recent semesters I’ve managed a 4.0 uw gpa, I still have time for a second a SAT so hopefully I can improve on that, do you have an idea on wether being a “foreigner” plays any role with the admission decision or if it doesn’t?

I’m not too sure about that, but when your guidance counselor writes your recommendation letter, you could ask them to include that you are new to this country so the colleges know
