Am I doomed for Pepperdine?

Hello. As I begin my application to Pepperdine, I'm starting to get really nervous. Here's why. I did terrible on my SATs! I am going to re-take them in October but I'm just really lousy on any form of standard test. Here are my scores CR: 580 M: 450 ( =[ !!!!!) W: 550 T: 1580. The only good news is that my grades in school way outperform what my SAT shows. I have a 4.0 GPA with all honor and AP classes (I took all that school offered besides math and art) except for a track 2 math class. My senior roster is pretty rigorous - maybe not compared to the students on this site but it is the best my school offers. I am also involved in a good amount of activities - year book and newspaper being the dominant ones. I know that Pepperdine doesn't require any scores but mines are REALLY low so my confidence level is sinking as we speak.

Here is my senior roster

Precalculus
A.P. Gov't & Pol.
A.P. English
Health/Gym (School requirement I didn't get it until Sr Yr though)
Honors Physics
Honors Theology (Catholic school)
Honors Business Law (I was going to take Hon. Span 2 but there was a scheduling conflict - I do have two years of Latin though)

Junior Roster
Alegbra 2
A.P. Biology
Honors English
Honors Spanish 1
Honors Theology 3
Advanced Composition
A.P. United States History

So does anyone have any advice for me to raise my chances even a little more because I really feel like my SAT scores are going to kill me in the end.

Notes: I will be taking the ACT in December for the first time; female; eastcoast; rank: 10/270-280ish not absolutely sure right now.

If there is anything else you would need to know, just ask.

anyone? please?

I feel your pain! Im in the same situation. i look great on paper......except for my SATs. Of course my first piece of advice is to take it again and try the ACT as well to see if you do better( which you likely will) If not, then apply to wherever you want to go to anyway and make a case for yourself. Address your low scores and explain why that is not reflective of your ability. Good luck, im rooting for ya.

Pepperdine
Test Scores
Middle 50% of
First-Year Students Percent Who
Submitted Scores
SAT Critical Reading: 550 - 670 87%
SAT Math: 560 - 680 87%
SAT Writing: 560 - 670 87%
ACT Composite: 24 - 29 44%

I pulled these off the College Board.Org. So what jumps out at me in terms if "chancing" you is that.....yes, your scores are low at 1580 But only 87% submitted scores. So either study like crazy and re-take the SAT's or try the ACT and see if you do better. Or dont submit your scores and give an explanation as to your difficulty with standardized testing.

Your GPA is great! What are your extra-curriculars? Also, Pepperdine is very interested in your church involvement so maybe you can share your experiences there (if that is a factor) and write an amazing essay as to why you want to go to Pepperdine...adcomms love applicants who love their school!

I am also applying to Pepperdine as well as 11 other schools but Pepperdine is my #1 choice. It is a beautiful campus...we visited during spring break and it is an amazing school. So who knows? Maybe we will both get in and share a dorm! :)
