Am I fit to major in the sciences?

I have had this dilemma for a long time now. I want to major in the sciences, particularly in the field of biology, because I find science fascinating and because STEM majors present a lot of job opportunities. But the problem is that I never taken any AP or Honors science classes during my high school career except I took college level intro chemistry and Geology classes during my senior year through my dual-enrollment program. I have always gotten A’s in my sciences classes except for Geology which I got a B+ in because I found it too boring (and I let my senioritis get the best of me). My worry is that I will be completely overwhelmed with the difficulties of a science degree because I have never really been exposed to that level of challenge. Also, I always see the stories about “YOU WILL HAVE NO LIFE IF YOU MAJOR IN BIOLOGY” or “I WAS LIKE YOU ONCE, NOW I HATE SCIENCE” which honestly makes me fearful.

Sorry for asking such a broad and general question, but does anyone have any advice? Anything I should research? Any suggestions of majors I should look at (STEM or others)?

Have you had at least high school level courses in biology, chemistry, and physics, and math through precalculus or higher?

@ucbalumnus I took math up to precalculus and the only science class I didn’t take was physics. I forgot to mention this is my post, but I also took material science my senior year but it doesn’t really carry a lot of weight because it wasn’t a lab science class.

Lack of high school physics could make physics in college somewhat harder. Otherwise, you are fine with the expected preparation (math through precalculus, high school sciences).
