14 from Washington is fairly small. I have a friend from Seattle but he isn't Wharton. You need to find out if any of the 14 was from your school. That shouldn't be too hard to determine. Ask around. Do you know anyone who graduated last year? A list at graduation of where students were going? You sound as if your college counselor hasn't passed that info along.

oh yeah, and i was on the staff of my school's literary magazine, have played soccer on the same rec team for like 7 years (we won a few tournaments), and was on Varsity Crew (rowing) as a freshman (but then i quit, haha i probably won't say that on my app)

OK you ask us for an opinion but give little or no information......so if you know that 10+ from your school got admitted and the total from your state was 14 in the class then what are you wanting us to tell you??? Only you would know who in your current class is applying.......what your profile is compared to them. I understand that you want opinions from folks on CC but you seem to have lots of info: are you wanting us to give you an honest opinion w/o all of your info or are you just wanting to post your stats and get random comments? Help us out here......I cannot imagine that you don't have some idea of your classmates who are applying w/ you.

augghhh, my computer deleted what i wrote.... whatever.

basically no one tells where they are applying at my school. priviledge is a very naughty word (think microsoft execs and a couple of billionaires). and i would have to say that about a quarter of my classmates are probably legacies. and then there is me. my mom immigrated from a third world country, and my dad grew up in poor ohio (i have a lot of relatives in trailer parks). now, im middle class and azn (which really sucks for college admins if you didnt know).

i cant donate a building, i'm not old money, and i am basically bankrupting my parents with my high school tuition .

so that's why im asking, and if people are going to get mad at me, then deal with it. i appreciate any advice, but dont think im supplicating the all mighty Penn students for their infinite wisdom on how much my tiny life sucks.

I think you have an interesting background and are from an outreach area (14 is not a lot of ppl, as someone else said). I don't think that you have the strongest app, but you might as well TRY, right?
