Am I going in the right track as far as EC goes?

Current EC's:</p>

<p>School Newspaper, Windmill school writing collaboration,
President and Founder of the BRP club ( produce music , hiphop)</p>

<p>Outside of school:</p>

<p>Boy Scouts of America - since 5th grade.. Currently life scout.. will get eagle
Pre-college at Georgetown this summer- will take 3 College Credit course IR or psychology
Habitat for Hum volunteer since freshman.
Bboy/popping, currently have 9 songs produced.</p>

<p>More leadership positions in the future:</p>

<p>My eagle project for the Eagle rank requires me to create a program that will benefit the public.
Will run for Class and Student Council Pres.
I have lost the VPresident position of the Student Council this year.</p>

<p>My concern: Freshman gpa 3.66 Current 3.7 : worried about future gpa for the course load is much heavier than both my freshman year and sophomore year combined. Any suggestions?</p>

<p>College Goals: top 20</p>

<p>Top choices: Columbia, Georgetown, Princeton</p>

<p>If your goals are Columbia, Georgetown, and Princeton, your GPA is more concerning right now than your ECs.</p>

<p>It's not how many ECs you do it's how well you do them. I do math team and science olympiad. I also happen to be state champs in both...</p>

<p>The important thing with ECs is passion. If all your ECs are of wildly varying "theme" then they mean nothing. In my opinion the strongest EC position you can have are two strong specific passions you have pursued for 2 years or more. Everything else: like boyscouts, ect. is simply distracting noise and ought to probably be ommitted from you app to allow your passions to be clearly seen. (Replace 2 with 1 and my opinion is still the same. ;) )</p>

<p>I forgot to mention math league.. I've been doing it since 9th grade, but never went to all state.</p>

<p>Another EC that i forgot to mention, all county Vocals and musicals</p>

<p>If i have 2 Ec's that i love and do with a passion, it would be scouting and BRP(producing music) </p>

<p>And for gpa's I'm working on them :)</p>
