I want to double major in Integrative Bio and Anthropology, plus take a language. Is it possible to do this in 5 years?

Completely possible,

It's the language that's the kicker. Depending on how many semesters of foreign language you want to take it will really consume a disproportionately large amount of time. (especially since most classes meet daily at 8 am). The double major will not be a problem and IB is generally a more enjoyable experience than MCB. You might need to take courses for a summer or two, but it's totally doable.

Cheers and Enjoy!

That is excellent news. Thank you very much.

I forgot to mention that I'm planning on minoring in music as well. That may push things into the impossible spectrum though. Is it still possible?

If you don't mind, I have one more question. For my first semester, I'm thinking of taking Anthro 1, my language course, a music course, and either math 16a or chem 1a. I'm leaning towards waiting on chem 1a and taking math 16a because it will be an easier class and I know most of the topics already, but will that be a problem later on? If it makes a difference, I'm trying to plan for medical school as well.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

I'm not sure a minor in music is necessary,

You should just take music classes as electives. Having so many majors and minors doesn't make you more likely to be admitted to medical school, however the anthro will be nice. When you take chem 1a make sure you create a schedule where you can really commit time to it. Taking it and a language at the same time will not leave much other time for...life. Math is a good idea for a first semester with antrho. If you want you can take your math, anthro, and a foreign language first semester. None of the content is horribly difficult, but the amount of material is rather large. This give you a good idea of work ethic/time commitment without stressing your intellectual capabilities. Taking chem and math and a foreign language will likely burn you out for a first. Take a lot of time consuming less difficult things, than take more difficult courswork later after you've become an excellent studier. This is all my personal opinion, but I managed to double major MCB/CogSci and took many public health IB courses as electives. Keep in mind that courses like MCB 165 and Psych 119 (psychopharm) are really quite easy but look like they're impossible on transcripts so make sure to ask students in your departments for classes that are very easy but appear very difficult. Then you can fit these courses in your most rigorous semesters so you appear to be insane when really you're finishing your biochem sequence or physics etc.

Good Luck, but I'm sure you'll be fine!
