Well, not literally of course. But is this too much?

I'm taking 18 credits as a freshman finance major - financial accounting, statistics, microeconomics, and a logic writing class.

I am going to start a 5 - 10 hrs a week unpaid internship.
I am on the planning board for a club I really like. (Probably 2 - 5 hrs a week)
I'm somewhat involved in student council. (Maybe 2 - 3 hrs a week)

I don't have class on Tuesday afternoons or Friday, but have 2 - 3 classes Monday - Thursday

For Fall semester I got an A in computer science, A in a history class, B in calculus II, and an A/A- (still don't know) in a writing class by the same professor I'm having again.

The class load itself doesn’t sound too bad. All of the extra stuff you’re doing is what makes it crazy. If it was me, I’d dump the clubs in a heart beat.

I might cut down on the internship - do it for only 5 hrs a week, mainly on the weekends.
The planning board is the most important club, only one I’m really attached to.
The student council has 1.5 hr weekly meetings, and then holds events like once a week. I don’t want to drop it, but I’m not that involved. So it’ll mainly be the meetings but also bi-weekly social events I’m interested in anyways.

I’m taking the same number of credits this semester. College Algebra, Intro Chemistry, English Comp II, intro to the humanities, and Social Problems. So far, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be too bad. The course load itself doesn’t seem too bad, but all of the extra things you’ve got going on are going to add up. If things get overwhelming, you might want to drop some of the EC’s, or at least cut them back.

The first semester of my sophomore year, I took 19 credits, did volunteer work, worked part-time (10 hours a week) and still managed to have a social life. I think you can do it, if you manage your time well and are willing to do the work involved.

Yeah, you could just drop some of the clubs and do them next year or so…but give it a few weeks and you’ll figure if you have to drop something to make it all manageable

I’m taking 4 classes, interning 17 hours a week, am in a professional frat, and will be pledging a social one this semester, in addition to two clubs, and I’m set on maintaining last semester’s 4.0. It’s all about your commitment and time management. I say you can do it for sure.
