i want to major in Mechanical Engineering. Outstanding in math and physics but my english, especially my writing skills, is kinda below the average. My TOEFL is 577

Am I going to face problems with writing in an outstanding college such as
M.I.T?!!

MIT requires 3 SAT II exams and with an option to substitute Writing with your TOEFL score. So as long as you have a decent score in SAT II Writing, dont submit TOEFL score and you'll be fine.
If you have already submitted the TOEFL scores, I would encourage you to take it again and get above the 600 mark. It is a mark that most colleges require

Do you mean like getting in, or actually at the university, studying?
Do you think your score was low-ish (relatively) because of bad luck, or just because your english is not good enough (don't take it offensively, speaking relatively, compared to other applicants to top schools)? TOEFL is by no means an accurate measure of one's english, but it does act as a (rough) guideline, I think.

most (if not all) unis have english courses for international students. The most important thing is that your english is sufficient to get you in and you're able to wade through the first year of university thought in American English.

Great news alyssa09 thnx :D . I mean like studying and doing researches in universities such as MIT, Umich and CIT. My only problem is my TOEFL ( because I studied high school in Arabic) so I rarely read english books. I have just started reading articles and books

MO- maybe in institute of technology, they don't require you to write much but you will definitely have to be able to understand the lecture and read the textbooks. And I think most competitive colleges/uni.s don't offer something like ESL classes.

MO, I read at some university webpage (one of the top ones, i cant remember), that if you get into the college but lack a little bit in english, they make you take extra english classes.
But if ESL classes arn't offered, you could always take on some kind of english course such as (english) literature, to help you understand texts.
