I am a high school senior, and only recently looked into applying to BU. After research however, I realized it has really everything I wanted. So here are my stats

I am Sr class president, captain of the wrestling team and four time letterer, editor of the yearbook, three time letterer in soccer, NHS historian. I am re-taking the SAT this week to focus on the math portion. I last took them in December of 2005, and have taken a course to improve my score this summer/fall. I am expecting a 620-650.

What kind of money does BU give? I know its very expensive, and suffice it to say I’m not from the most well-off household. All posts are appreciated!

You're a good candidate. You know your math score is lower than the average, but the verbal is higher. BU uses the same financial aid criteria every school uses - so you'll get an idea from the Fafsa and other stuff you fill out. They're more generous, like every school, to candidates they rate higher, which varies from college to college within BU. It's very hard to predict.

BU is about the same price as any private school.

I agree you are a good candidate although nothing is certain in these times. If you bring up the math that will really help. Your courses are rigorous which helps. Which college within BU? CAS? What state are you from?

I agree BU is about the same price as any good private school. They are all in the same range yet there are many lesser known private collegs that cost less. One never knowes about finacial aid. It may not effect their decision to accept you, tahts need blind, but how much you get can vary. See what the FAFSA on line formula says but consider it just an estimate and keep your options open. If a competetive offers a student more aid they can sometimes negotiate with the other choices.
