So I just finished my freshman year as a Kelley student at Indiana and it went extremely well. I got close to perfect grades,I am going to be serving on multiple exec boards for some of the top student organizations in the business school, and made good connections with professors. I won't know if I got into the honors program for another month, but it seems very likely. Everything just went really well, and I fee like I set a strong foundation for the rest of my college career.

But UT-Austin is where I have wanted to go for my entire life, and I got accepted as a transfer for this Fall. I didn't have the required coursework to apply for McCombs, so I would an econ major for the first year.

Since I think I will do well enough at UT-Austin to get into McCombs as an internal transfer, my biggest worry is how much of a disadvantage only having two years in the program will be. It seems like you lose out on a lot by only having 2 years, instead of all four like most McCombs students.

It seems like there it a lot of risk in going to UT-Austin, and it could go terribly wrong, but there's not really a whole lot of upside if it goes well. Does anyone have personal experience in transferring from a business program, to being a non-business student at another university with the intention of becoming a business student? Does that make any sense?
