I'm very passionate about all of those extracurriculars. My major will be English Literature.

My real question is this:

Since my C in 10th grade Geometry didn't really affect my final GPA, will it really matter that much? Especially if I'm going into English Literature? Or am I just overreacting?

BTW, no one from my class is applying to Princeton. My school does NOT rank whatsoever.

How did you take calculus before you took precalculus?

Oops sorry. I self studied it.

That was my same question how did you take AP Calculus before Pre-Calc and got a 5?! lol. To answer your question, I don’t think it’ll matter that much. Your other grades looks really good.

Oh okay. Well good job on the Calculus test!

Lol I studied it for a year and had tons of extra help from the AP Calc teacher at my school. :P

Also…I’m just not a Geometry person. I am not that bad at math…I’m just more algebraic.

Bump! I’d like more opinions.

You just gave yourself the answer. You’re not a geometry person, and you’re not even bad at math. Why’re you worrying about it then? It’s really not a big deal.

I’m worrying about it because I am not sure how Princeton will view it… :S

They’re human beings with common sense…One C- isn’t going to dissuade them. If it does, then f**k 'em. You don’t need that :P

Hahaha thanks Franciasalamatt :). Nice username btw, it really rolls off smoothly on the keyboard…haha.

Bump, by the way!

You got a 5 on the AP Calculus exam and currently have an A in Honors precalculus, both of which are not comparable to geometry H in terms of difficulty. That C will not matter at all.

Cool, thanks. So I don’t need straight A’s all 4 years to get into Princeton…that’s a relief.
Now that I think about it, I sort of like my sub-par grades. It shows that I don’t just care about school…and it makes me more human-like. :stuck_out_tongue: …It gives me more character, in a way.

But maybe I’m wrong… I don’t know. I just know that it’s somewhat a consolation…the more I think about it.

I don’t know if the people asking about how the OP took Calculus before Pre-Calculus have ever learned Calculus or if they value their education exclusively extrinsically with befuddlement at observing anything that falls outside of their paradigm.

Don’t sweat it.

Thanks JimboSteve!! :)

Any other advice?

I’m guessing you grade by semester and then average it out? If so, no one will care. It’s Geometry. Eighth graders take geometry. Why cry over something eighth graders do? :)
