I have been accepted to Lehigh U. and given about 34k in total financial aid. about 26k in grants and 8k in loans and work study. My question is will I recieve similar aid in 2011-2012? Or is it possible that I get absolutely nothing the next year from Lehigh.

This is a concern because I am having trouble deciding between Lehigh and other schools like Bentley or Bryant that have offered me 13-15k in renewable scholarships and 8-10k in aid.

from what i hear you keep the same aid if your financial situation doesn’t change a lot. if your family income increases or decreases by 10% your aid might go up or down accordingly.

Look at the description of your grants carefully! If they are federal or state grants, they are based on your FAFSA EFC and that can cause changes (in addition to being at the mercy of the state budget process). But, if your parent’s income/assets are relatively stable, the grants should be as well. If the grants are institutional, check to make sure none are described as freshman awards as these are generally only offered for one year. If you have any doubts, please call Lehigh’s FA office before you make your decision.

Yeah if your absolutely unsure contact the school. Though it is very unlikely for one year the school to be affordable and then the next year the school doesn’t give aid at all, that rarely happens ( if ever).
