The OP isn’t going stepping into his or her WAY BACK time machine and going back to 1987 to attend college. He or she is making a college decision in this millenium, specifically 2018-2019. :))
And Michigan has won back-to-back Big 10 basketball championships. That fact bodes well for the future. That and playing in the Final Four just about month + ago.
And as my buddy who’s a Penn State alum said when I mentioned basketball and hockey, “no one cares about those sports.” :-j
All other things being equal, if you’re a prospective student for the term 2018-2019 and a college sports fan, then you pick Michigan over Indiana.
BTW, one of the local sports talk radio show hosts here in the SF Bay Area, is an Indiana alum and a big Indiana basketball fan. He was crowing on and on about Romeo Langford, when he made his decision a couple weeks ago. I had to turn the radio station for a few minutes until he got back to talking about our Golden State Warriors.
Having said all this, the OP probably hates sports.
@sushiritto
“Other than this one recruiting class, Indiana basketball hasn’t been very good for many years.”
What are you talking about? They literally won the Big Ten in 2016
I should probably mention I’m majoring in biology so I can later do genetic counseling. I don’t hate sports, but I’m not going to college to watch them either.
@iubaccounting Have you reviewed their record over the last 15 +/- years? Take a look at Indiana’s record with a non-biased POV. Don’t just pick out the their best season since 2001-2002 and 2012-2013. If I did that, then I’d pick out the three seasons (Big 10 only) of 2008-2011 when they went 8-46.
The last 2 seasons, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 they’re 7-11 and 9-9 in the Big 10. Anyway, Indiana has been pretty mediocre for most of those years. But hey, you have Romeo Langford now. They should be on a upswing now.
I didn’t say they were any good the last 2 seasons. You said they haven’t been good for many years. They were good 2 years ago. That’s all I’m saying.
^OP has just said they’re not going to college to watch sports so the bickering is irrelevant/off topic/derailing thread. I my opinion, OP is a junior and should apply to both if they’re acceptable, or just IU if they prefer to + safeties and reaches.
