To be honest, it’s much too early to ask for chances. First off, you’ve only completed one-semester at high school – so your GPA and course rigor can (and will) significantly change between now and the time you apply to college. Secondly, you lack an ACT or SAT test score, as well as AP scores, and SAT Subject test scores – all of those matter to high-end college such as HYPSM.

My advice: STAY OFF of College Confidential for the next two years and focus on the activities and courses you love. At the tail-end of your JUNIOR YEAR, when you have a better grasp of what you want and where your stats are leading you, you can return to CC and make another chance thread. Best of luck to you!

I agree with the previous post about staying off CC. Things will change a lot for you and CC will just stress you out (trust me).

In the mean time, you should explore neurobiology more. Colleges want to see passion and you have a few years to show it. The more you can do to explore neurobiology now the better it will look.

Good luck!

You will feel that you are on the right track of your goal when you feel at ease and love what what your doin’. remember the grace under pressure.

Try to stay focused on school, grades WILL change. Don’t be afraid if they drop. Best Advice: stay of CC. People ate very harsh, you sound like you’ll be alright. Best of luck!

With the achievements and awesome EC’s you have as a HS freshman is really impressive. Stay off CC because you are doing fine already! I say practice your ACT and SAT. Take as many AP classes as you can (and IB if your school has them). Make sure you do a lot of activities pertaining to your interests; don’t do something just to put it in a college app, because they will see that. Good job so far! Good luck!!!

Thanks for all of your advice! I am actually thinking on practicing for the SAT/ACT this summer, since I just recently took the ACT Aspire and got a 31 Composite. As for the other comments warning me to stay off CC, I definitely will since I think that CC is NOT healthy, and can cause a lot of stress. Thanks again!
