Am I on the right track for NYU Stern?

Hello,
I am a current Junior in high school and I’m wondering whether or not I’m heading in the right direction for studying Finance or Economics at NYU Stern. I am thinking of applying early decision. Would that give me a considerable advantage?

I know that my test scores and GPA are not extremely high, but I was wondering if my ECs could help give me the edge compared to other applicants.

School and Scores:

  • UW GPA: 3.78
  • Weighted GPA: 4.45
  • ACT: 31
  • Sat II French: 760
  • AP French: 5
  • Classes: (7 Period Days)
  • Freshman: 1 AP, 2 IB, 1 Honors.
  • Sophomore: 1 AP, 3 IB, 1 Honors.
  • Junior: 5 AP/IB, 1 IB,

ECs:

  • President/Officer of Community Impact Association. (We build solar panels and send them to developing regions of the world or communities in need of electricity.)
  • Member of Deca. (State level as of right now.)
  • Photographer. (As a hobbyist.)
  • Guitarist. (Have been playing for 9 years, performed 12 concerts last year.)

Summer Programs:

  • Summer 2016 - Attended Washington Business Week. (Finished in second place for pitch of business plan in front of judges.)
  • Summer 2017 - Was part of the Cambridge Scholar’s Programme. (Studied Finance, Economics, and Business Psychology at Gonville and Caius College at Cambridge University.)

MAIN EXTRA CURRICULAR AND PASSION:

  • In fall 2016 I founded a nonprofit organization, dedicated to providing electricity to individuals and communities in need. I am the President of this organization.
  • Since our start in 2016, we have been able to equip the Othello and Nickelsville Homeless Encampments in Seattle, Washington with solar powered lighting and charging units. We were also able to build and design dozens of units which we sent to Tijuana, Mexico, for low income housing. These solar panels permit those in need to access lighting and charging capabilities for their devices.
  • This is a nonprofit that helps fund the Community Impact Association, where students can learn how to build the solar panels and do their part in making the world a better place for all.
  • With this nonprofit and school club, I have been trying to promote service above self to the students around me, showing them what impact a small initiative has on the world and communities around us.
  • In the past year I have been able to raise $137,500 worth of product and monetary donations, and also partner up with Microsoft IoT Labs and Microsoft’s Annual Giving Campaign. We also have other organizations, foundations, and companies as sponsors.

MAIN QUESTIONS:
Do you think my ECs and nonprofit give me an edge for admissions at Stern?
Also, do you have any suggestions on what I should do to improve my candidacy? Or thoughts on CAS?
Am I heading in the right direction?

Thank you for your time.

If I were you, I would apply ED1 to Stern and put CAS and LSP as your backups. Your stats look good for CAS and LSP ED. I believe you can transfer to Stern from CAS but not LSP, but you can transfer from LSP to CAS, so if you really want to go to NYU you should definitely list those as backups. The acceptance rate overall for NYU is 39% for ED and 28ish% for RD so ED will help. Take both the ACT and SAT this year to get those up, keep your grades up, and try to get a 700+ on the Math 2 and another SAT2 exam (maybe Lit to be well-rounded)

@student121 Did u get accepted?
