Am I on the Right Track???

Nate42 - I am impressed by the ground work you are doing in preparation for college admission. My suggestion is to also look at financial details as to how you will pay for the college. Run you numbers using calculators on the college web sites and get an estimate on what they expect from you - expected payment / loan / work service. Do not depend on academic scholarships / grants as they are very difficult to get

@prdparent: Thank you very much. I have looked into many payment options for college. The option I am currently leaning towards in joining the naval academy. Which means if I am accepted by a congressman in my state, the government will pay for my whole education throughout college and medical school. The only draw back to this is I will have to serve our country for 4 years stationed somewhere in the U.S. , but not in ways you might expect. For doctors in the field I plan to study, I will do CAT scans and anything else the hospital needs a Radiologist to do. In doing this my whole tuition from Chapel Hill will be covered. No expense to me our my family.

But I have a plan B also. If this plan above doesn’t work I have already spoke with Chapel Hill about how much I will have to pay. They said based on my parents income and my strong academic achievement level, I will only have to pay around $9,000 a year for their school. This doesn’t include scholarships so I would expect a even lower number.

I am surprised you didn’t apply to the North Carolina School of Science and Math. Even if you didn’t want residential, they do have an online program that would have opened more challenging honors and AP classes. Too late now- sorry. NCVPS does have a lot of AP online. I am taking AP Government and Politics through them right now and have enjoyed it.

@mich5225: I considered NCSSM but I knew that I couldn’t leave home. I considered online but even as bad as my high school is, I enjoy being first in the class.
As for NCVPS, I will be taking AP Psychology next year and then AP Physics B and AP Stat my senior year. My school offers only 5 AP’s so online will definitely be the way to go.
