Am I on Track?

I'm a junior in highschool. I live in NJ, have a GPA of 3.45 (Unweighted) and 3.64 (Weighted). I haven't taken the SATs yet, and am waiting on my PSAT scores. I was in honors history the past two years, am in AP now, and am planning on taking 3 AP history courses as a senior next year, and maybe honors English. (I obviously want to major in some form of history). I slacked off last year, but my grades are already rising, and will continue to do so this/next year. I'm going to be the President of the Amnesty International club for my second year next year, and I founded and am VP of the vegetarian club. I might also create a political club this year, and will be the president of that.

So, am I on track for UMass Amherst? Are there any other colleges I should look at? Can I get any $ for applying early action (I need about 10,000 for UMass)?

UMass does not give a lot of financial aid, although a number of people who were OOS reported getting a $5K scholarship of some sort. UMass is trying to increase the number of OOS students because they pay more (about $12K/year) so it seems they gave out a bunch of $5K “coupons” so to speak to try to entice them.

Don’t know if they are still doing that.

Your GPA is certainly good enough.

I don’t know anything about the History department at UMass (or anywhere else) so I can’t really say what other schools would be good, or if UMass would be good for that matter.
