I'm only a Junior but I am unsure about whether or not I have a chance at this point.

School I have my eye on: UC Berkeley, UCLA, Brown, NYU, Yale.

We just finished the first quarter of the semester. Essentially, each quarter are like progress reports and then the final grades for the semester are the average of our quarter grades and go on our transcripts.

(does freshman year even matter???)

Sophomore year GPA: 3.83
Junior: 4.2 (thus far after the first quarter)

SAT: 1920 (Only taken once. I am taking it again in November)
SAT II: Biology- 680
USH- 720

Extra Curricular:
-I established a program with SFMOMA where I work as a sort of tour guide for elementary/middle school students and teach them about the different at works and artists. It's a paid gig.
- Model United Nations
- Debate Team (I won 2 awards for this)
- Participate and vice president of a philanthropic organization at my school. We've raised around $1700 for the GI-NET (Genocide Intervention) which sends the earning to Darfur which provides the refugee's with protection, food, ect.
- Editor/Writer for the school newspaper: I decide on the topics regarding politics and foreign affairs for each issue as well as writing and reviewing articles submitted by both myself and those who write for this section. (Next year I will cross my fingers, knock on wood be editor-in-chief)

I guess you are using a weighed GPA.
I'm a Junior too, and we all know that Junior year is very important. (unlike freshmen)
your EC's look ok to me, but i don't really know for sure.
well, I wouldn't worry about 'being on the track' and just do the best I can, and do things that you really want to do. After all, why do something that you don't like? Because it would look good on your application? I don't think so. I thinks colleges are smart enough to figure out if you did it because you liked it, or just for the college.
What do you like to do? figure it out, and spend considerable amount of time on it. then you are on track.

I'm a junior as well, and your stats are a little better than mine, but the schools you're looking into are also FAR superior to mine, so I'll try to offer what was said to me and then take it to the next level... if that makes sense. Haha.

Bump up the SAT grade to above 2100, which I'm sure you'll do, but that's what you're going to need to do for Berkeley and Yale, especially.

EC's are looking good, but you might want to increase your out-of-school stuff and really look into applying for more awards/recognition. Probably not necessary, but just a suggestion that may improve your chances. And what are your interests and your intended major? From what you've written, you seem international relations-ish, but it also looks like you're pretty big on art. Try to demonstrate that more in your EC's.

Freshman GPA does count! What are your weighted/unweighted scales? If the junior GPA is a 4.2/5.0 weighted, that may need to come up a bit too. If it's /4.5, you're fine. Much better in the GPA department than me, BTW!

What's your courseload like? How many AP's?

As of right now, NYU looks like your only solid match, with UCLA being a high match. The rest are reaches, but they're reaches for everyone. Yale, Brown, and Berkeley could be more attainable if you work hard over the next year or so. Also, are you in-state for the UC's? That could make a big difference for UCLA and Berkeley.

I actually to go an art based High School. You audition and prepare a portfolio (if it is a visual one) and If you get accepted you spend everyday for 2 hours taking a class under your discipline. I am in the Visual Department so it involves Painting, Drawing, and Sculpture.

No AP's were available in Sophomore year. This year I am taking AP Environmental Science, AP English, and AP Euro History.

My GPA is on a 4.0 scale so this year I am above that due to my AP classes.

AHH! 2100 seems like such an improvement, I'm honestly hoping for a somewhere around a 2000.

That's strange, because my school doesn't add extra points to GPA for AP classes. but... whatever.
If you are considering Art-College, would SAT really matter? I mean, it would help if you get a good score, but SAT doesn't really have anything to do with art, does it?

I am not considering an Art College. However, in the city I live in, when it comes to public schooling it is second best. (Private school is nearly 35,000 a year!)

As far as extra points for AP, I thought all schools did it. An A in an AP class is worth 5 points whereas an A in a regular class is worth 4.

Bump

You're on track for the UC schools (if you're from California) and NYU if you can bolster your SATs and perform well junior year. Yale and Brown are tough, though, although being and editor-in-chief looks amazing on a resume. See if you can add on to your ECs, bring your SATs up to 2200+, and maintain solid grades, and you should position yourself well.
