Am I overloaded my schedule for no reason? HELP!

hey guys, so the big question is its senior year, I just found out I only have a 3.1 academic GPA 3.6 normal so Im kinda screwed for the good schools, however I am not going to go to CC.

my schedule for Senior year is this:
1.English 4
2. AP art History
3. Math Studies
4. AP Econ
5. AP Bio
6. Film

I am thinking about dropping AP art history but I am not sure if that is bad or not? Am I pointlessly overloading my schedule for no reason? AP art history is considered an elective at my school so this is why im asking, should I drop it so I can sleep a little later?

Im planning to apply to UC schools on the off chance I get lucky but im more serious with applying to such schools such as ASU, Cal state san diego, Cal state san fransisco, pamona, SLO, penn state, etc etc.

I don’t think you’re necessarily overloading and i think you should stick to your schedule. I’m in my junior year and my schedule looks similar to yours. I’ll admit that it is pretty tough for me to take all these AP’s and still have time to prepare for all the exams by the end of the year; Sat’s, AP exams, regents, SAT II’s, etc…

This is what my schedule looks like:

AP U.S. History

Phys ed.

Physics/ Physics Lab

AP English Language and Composition

Spanish 5-6 Honors

AP Chemistry (Double Band, two periods in a row)

Trigonometry

This year i don’t have lunch nor do i have an elective.

My advice is even though its a lot of work and that it’s senior year you should still work hard and not slack off.

you’re not overloading, trust me
my senior year schedule is helluva lot tougher

well my sophomore schedule is harder than that :]

Nope, you’ll be fine!

Hehe, I wanted to go light on my schedule, and this is what I ended up with:
1 ap environmental science
2 college level english
3 ap chemistry
4 ap gov’t
5 college level computer info systems
6 college level calculus
And I just found out I don’t really have enough ECs to get into a really good school :/

Now I dunno, but to me, english, film, and math studies seem kinda like they won’t require much work or energy. I would stick with what you got, because it’ll make up for the GPA somewhat

Overloading on CC and overloading in real life among normal people are two totally different things, btw.

1.English 4 - Mandatroy
2. AP art History - Hard class, Lots of Work, LOTS of memorization (Are you good at memory? If not, then drop!)
3. Math Studies - I don’t know what this is? It sounds like the dumb kid math class. Is it?
4. AP Econ - Easy enough.
5. AP Bio - Hard class, Lots of Work.
6. Film - Should be easy.

I think that you could probably handle it… but it really depends on you. I really would reconsider Art History if you don’t have good memorization skills. That’s the precise reason why I didn’t take that class. Do you have any study periods? I’ve found that that makes a HUGE difference for me.

yeah, I have never been good in math and since I couldnt take pre cal due to getting a B, then C in algebra 2 last year I took an easier math since id still need to take pre cal before cal in college.

math studies IS like dumb math, its algebra II with some trig mixed in :</p>
