I’ve been preparing for the SAT Math 2 subject test for about a month now.
My goal is to get a 800 when I take it next Saturday on August 26.
My first diagnostic test from the official math level 2 study guide result was 700. Quite mediocre. I decided to get the Barron’s SAT Math Level 2 Subject Test 12th Edition and committed to about 2 practice tests a week. Here are my results
Diagnostic (from Barron’s): 740
Test 1: 720
Test 2: 760
Test 3: 720
Test 4: 720
Test 5: 750
Test 6: 780
Overall I’m on the improving trend. These tests were all taken under normal circumstances (1 hr).
I know the Barron’s test is supposed to be more difficult than the actual subject test.
My big question is: Based on the above scores is it safe to say I can get a 800 on the SAT Math level 2 subject test? If not, I’m willing to cancel and take it in October.
Also just in case, I purchased Dr. Chung’s Math 2 book. It’s very late, I know, but I’m aiming for a practice test a day and memorizing his 61 perfect tips.
Thank you!
I’ll probably take the 2nd official Math level 2 test from the study guide tomorrow. I’ll tell you how that goes
I took the 2nd official Math Level 2 test and got a 800. I got 47/50 questions correct. Left 1 blank and 2 I answered but they were incorrect. Am I still in the clear to take it Saturday? I need a 800 and 47/50 doesn’t give me much room for error.
You look ready to go to me. My DD left 8 or 9 blank and still got an 800. She was not able to get through the Dr. Chung material as she found it too difficult. Maybe you should work on minimizing your guesses. Good luck.
I’m feeling confident guys, I purchased Dr. Chung’s book and have worked through two practice tests so far. From what I’ve heard in the past, Dr. Chung’s books are more difficult than the actual test. I got an 800 on the Chung’s tests as well, so I’m feeling confident. Thank you!
I’ve been doing pretty well with my Math II practice tests (800 on Kaplan tests and 780-800 on Barron’s tests) as well, but I still can’t help but feel nervous about the actual thing. Even though I know Barron’s is much harder than the actual thing, I feel like I might be stressing too much over the harder and more uncommon questions, so that I won’t be prepared for questions on the real test that Barron’s didn’t bother to cover that much.
I was in your exact same position a few days back! I got some 800’s in a row, didn’t miss many questions, and the ones I did miss were usually silly mistakes. I was just super worried that the actual test would come around and I’ll miss some easy questions/not know the difficult ones and not get the elusive 800.
But now I just stopped worrying. I mean, the practice tests are modeled to be more difficult and if you’re getting 800 on those consistently there is no need to worry about the real deal. Just trust yourself and make sure you get a good night’s rest and you’ll do fine.
How did everyone do? Did the test go as planned? Hope everyone met their goals! TBH for me it was harder then I thought it was going to be. I know I missed at least 2-3 questions and left 1 blank so that’s cutting it supper close
I think I did fine on the Math II test. I answered all of the questions and felt fairly sure of all of my answers. There’s still the possibility of stupid mistakes though.
I’m going to be paranoid over this for the next month, but overall I think the odds of an 800 are pretty good.
@V1233333333 Hey dude, you’re not supposed to talk about official questions. It could get your score cancelled. I recommend you delete your post lol or edit it so you take out specifics.
