Hi guys, i know i keep posting but the more i think about it the more i freak out and think that i am screwed.

2nd year at Pierce Community College and am trying to transfer to 1st choice: Cal poly Pomona, 2nd choice: UCI, 3rd choice: not sure (any suggestions)?
as either a aerospace engineering or electrical engineering major

i have a 2.7 (i know i screwed up, i just had alot of family issues that have been taken care of recently) and am freaking the hell out just a little

im trying to apply for Fall of 2012, probably will find an internship in the summer to help my chances

im done with IGETC and am working on assist.org classes (not sure if i can finish all of the physics classes)

Will i get into any good engineering colleges with below a 3.0 GPA as a engineering major?

with 2-3 sessions left before Fall of 2012, is it possible for me to get in?

will a internship in the summer help my chances to getting accepted?

idk wat else to ask but any other information would really be appreciated
thanks guys

pretty sure CSUs dont give a crap about ECs. And its veryy unlikely that Irvine will take you with a less than 3.0 gpa. Just do the best you can to get the best grades possible with the time you have left.

I go to cal poly. My math professor said that they would be increasing the gpa requirement for engineering majors. If you really want to go to cal poly I would say apply as engineering technology and do well (i mean nearly 4.0 gpa) your first quarter then apply to switch majors. I say this because of your gpa. It’s a risk but life isn’t worth living without risk.

Why are you thinking about an internship during the summer rather than taking a Physics course? CSUs do not consider ECs at all and UCs would consider finishing your prerequisites, especially one as important as Physics, far more important than ECs in admission decisions. You said you are in your second year at a CCC but do not think you can finish three semesters of Physics by fall 2012? What have you been doing? For an Engineering major Physics is the first prerequisite you should have been focused on. I know that classes are getting harder to get into at CCCs but is it really so bad that you can not finish three semesters of Physics in nearly four years at your CCC?

You still have a year before you transfer; you have plently of time to boost your gpa. My boyfriend raised his gpa from 3.1 to 3.5 in a single semester and ended up getting accepted to cal poly for computer engineering. I also heard about cal poly’s gpa boost next year, so you’ll probably need to get your gpa to atleast 3.0 and try to finish the physics.
