Am I screwed? Submitted essay, one friggin mistake

I already submitted my NYU Application. I just re-read my essay, and noticed this mistake: She tells me her parents divorced when she was five years old, and Alexa blamed the divorce on her father, explaining her reluctance to see him.

Obviously, it should be . She tells me her parents divorced when she was five years old. Alexa blamed the divorce on her father, explaining her reluctance to see him.

That's the only grammatical mistake in my whole application- do you think it will be that deterimental? am i just being paranoid? my application is good. the essay is still strong but I'm just so angry I didn't catch that, after editing and reediting about 40 times. not to mention 5 English teachers read and edited it and didn't catch anything there. If they didn't see it, will admissions notice it do you think? argh! I'd be stupid to say that this will be the reason I don't get in, right?

Admissions officers won't care so much off that one mistake at NYU, and if your app was good I'm sure they'll let it slide. You have to realize that those kind of things aren't exactly what they are looking for in the essay...
Good luck

Don't worry, one mistake won't kill your application.
