Am I screwed? :(

I think I veered off topic on my essay and potentially got a zero. :( I had three examples but two of them were how they negatively impacted the world. But I think the prompt was asking about small groups of people that help the world? Idk I'm scared!

I did the same thing :(

I used 2 examples from literature/history, but both were negative impacts.

If the prompt was asking about groups of small people that helped the world,I think it would be valid to mention groups that had negative impacts. As long as you did a good job tying those two examples back to the prompt, and your other example was about a positive impact, you should still be good for a double digits score, although I wouldn’t expect a 12.

Lots of people complain about the SAT Essay because it seems so uncharacteristic of the classic MC style that the SAT is known for. With only 2 minutes (yes two!) to read an essay, graders must make quick impressions about your essay and give a score from their rubric. Since you mentioned you discussed about small groups, you most certainly won’t get a 0. A 0 would be along the lines of you driving to school or something haha. Also, the SAT Essay is a poor indicator of true writing, in that longer essays on the SAT essay often receive higher scores. I, for one, always write two full pages and have received 10’s and 11’s. With practice, you can improve tremendously!

What!?!?!!??! Did it really say it had to positive!??!? Please dont tell me it did

It didn’t say it explicitly but the quote talked about a small group of concerned citizens making the world a better place (or something like that) and then in the actual prompt there was I think one word that implied it had to be positive.

i wrote a really good essay too…i hope it doesn’t have to be positive
from what i remember i thought it just said can a small group of people have a large influence on the world?

got a bad feeling…my first example was positive but then my second was negative because i couldn’t think of anything…plus the assignment question said “concerned individuals” ■■■ again. owned in everything

Well concerned could mean many different things… they could be concerned over anything! So I don’t think its bad. I wouldn’t worry about it guys. thanks for the help!

Dude i was about to jump off a cliff. Don’t scare me like that

^
Bro chilllll, no need to jump off cliffs for the SAT. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m made my fair share of silly mistakes today, and I assure you, we can get through this. :D

(I think you guys should all appeal to the collegeboard about the nutritional info math question though. Check out the thread for more details.)

Can a small group of concerned individuals make a significant impact on the world?

It had to be positive? I dont think so

Im told to never read inside the box and just the question and I wrote supporting the negative side.
