<p>My dad sent out the midyears today for HYPS on SNAIL MAIL. which will take 4-6 days to get there. I'm already past stanford's deadline of march 1st. And HYP don't have deadlines...</p>
<p>is this very late? will i get rejected simply cause they don't have my midyears by the time they get to my app?</p>
<p>First off, why are you (your Dad) sending them instead of an official copy from the high school?</p>
<p>Midyears are used differently by different colleges. Some colleges won't do anything until they have arrived (WUSTL?), while other colleges don't even look at them, and other colleges only use them in borderline cases. Rachel Toor in "Admissions Confidential" was an adcom at Duke and said that the only time that adcoms would rush down to the mailroom and dig thru the mail was when there was a borderline applicant that the adcom wanted to help get accepted. Even if they do want to see the midyear report, they won't trash your app. They will just work with you in order to complete your application. If you are really worried, call the schools.</p>

<p>I agree. I so do not trust my school to be able to properly mail something, so I get them to put everything in an official envelope and stuff, then say I don't have the address with me, take the thing home, and mail it myself.</p>
<p>But yeah, you should be fine, they're not gonna be like... "OMG it's two days late!!! TRASH IT!!! TRASH IT!!!"</p>
<p>There are alot of threads on CC about stuff getting to colleges late. Maybe the word "DEADline" is a little bit too descriptive.</p>
