I got a 1 on Ap English and us history today, how bad does a 1 look for colleges. Am I screwed? I know you self report but I heard colleges want you to report everything. Thank you so much I appreciate it

AP exams are self reported. A school may wonder why you chose not to report or take the APs but that will be better for you than reporting those scores. If you were so ill-prepared for those exams and did not have the foresight/ability to self study the rest of the material, make sure you utilize your GC to help select appropriate college options.

So even if I got an A in the class but got a 1 on the test, I should just not report the scores? Thank you

Do not report unless a college explicitly tells you for a score of 1 or 2. A 3 maybe acceptable to voluntarily report in some cases. Always voluntarily report a 4/5.

Also, you are not “screwed”.

IMHO the biggest issue here isn’t college admissions. Getting into college isn’t the end of the road, its the start.

The College Board goes to a lot of effort to train graders so that all essays are graded similarly, and everyone answers the same multiple-choice questions. You have 2 measures that say you aren’t ready to perform at a freshman level in college. I’d suggest figuring out what needs to improve and working on it while you’re still in HS.
