Thanks again for the encouragement! Do you think this is the same for uber competitive schools such as the ivy`s? because looking at other posts in CC, it seems as though even 1 C can kill you..even IF you improve... what do you think?

that's true. the ivies are tough. but who knows with the ivies..u can never be to sure, or to unsure. This whole college process just sucks in general..lol

A D hurts at any top school. I would always do it over, even if the D still shows on the transcript. Your summer program is great, bu most colleges make it clear they won't help your chance a admission. A D, however, will hurt it. Maybe an online APEX or EPGY summer class? Sorry but top schools just don't see many D's, and when hey have way too many with all A's, unless you have something extraordinary, you'll be the one in the out pile as a recent newspasper story about middlebury doing so with kids with a single C.

Thanks suze for your comments. I
m not doing the summer program to help my chances at Chicago by any means..I
m doing a bio reserach program there because thats what I want to study. Just wanted to clear that up..
If I do improve my grades, is there any hope? or should I just give up and start looking at second tier schools..?
