I am a high school senior and I just got two of my community college grades back: General Botany (C) and Calculus II (C). I had a really rough semester because a lot of my extracurricular responsibilities popped up at once and i didn't really have time to study. I'm not gonna transfer the botany class if I go to UCLA and I might retake the second semester of Calc (Math 31B @ UCLA) if I really need to. What do you suggest I do? How badly would this affect my admissions status?

Regardless of if you use your Botany class at UCLA, it still must be reported and it is still a part of your GPA.

Your Calc grade will only affect you if it's a pre-req for your major.

A couple Cs on your transcripts are fine, don't let it get out of hand though. Bring home the As with some Bs.

Your extracurricular activities help when you apply, but don't let them get in the way of the most important thing, your actual school work.

i did let them get in the way this semester. thats the problem. And if I major in Biochem than it is gonna affect me, right? Dont I have an option to just not transfer the course and retake it?

dont tell them about the c's and you'll be fine. you wont get in with a c, i can almost guarantee it.

apply under a different major. you're still going to be under college of letters & sciences (biochem, bio, english, history, etc are all under cl&s). so instead of a s. campus major, choose something random like women's studies. it'll offset your bad marks.

just don't report those grades, simple as that.

yeah do what etti said...
unless you put that u took those classes on ur college apps.
and if you did, just send them in, two C's will not kill you

yea ur screwed.

there on my app, but the grades dont go in until after the end of this year with my final transcripts, assuming I do get in.

o yea. I applied undeclared.
