Am i screwed...????

I checked my status on columbia website with given columbia university ID
and I found out they received my app on Nov 2nd !!! Even though I turned in by 10 o'clock ET..
Also, I have paid the app fee (receipt is on commonapp) but the status says they didn't get my money .

What should I do -0-

you should be fine, they probably took time to download and ‘receive’ your application because they were processing hundreds of apps. if they have your app - they will read it, and you will not be prejudiced. as for making sure you paid them - for that i would give a call to the front desk number.

i also have a question!! uh… on my application track, it says that my ED form has “not been received/ processed.” what exactly is that supposed to mean? they processed it but didn’t receive it? i am really confused. the same has happened for the teacher evaluations. it says “not received/ processed”? should i be freaking out because i submitted my ED agreement form online (in my commonapp) on october 23rd and my teacher evaluations were sent, too! please respond ASAP! i am about to get a heart attack (for real…)

have you emailed or called columbia? that should be your first place. may take some time to get an answer, but emailing is the best way to figure this stuff out.

second you should realize this is columbia’s first year on the commonapp system, it may indeed mean that they have things that the system says they don’t just because they are dealing with the kinks of having what they have and what it shows as processed talk to each other. it may be a ‘heart attack’ for you, but you should have a great degree of patience. i’d say if your stuff is not ‘processed’ before thanksgiving, then perhaps you could be a bit more worried, but if that is the case columbia will contact you to ask for new copies of information. so freaking out is not worth it.

i get the impression a lot of students think their files wont be read if it everything is not in on time, this isn’t true. if you submitted your commonapp and supplement before the deadline electronically, your app will be read. it takes weeks to read apps, so it is not as if they have read all applicants already. when they get to your completed application they will read it as if it were the first time they saw it.

if it was received after Nov 1st you are fine because you submitted it before. It just matters that you submitted it before the deadline
