Am I still able to get into a military academy?

I live in California’s 28th district, which on the site says that its very difficult to get a letter of rec from my representative. I know I messed up, but that’s in the past, and I just recently decided to stop kicking myself for it and start preparing for the future. I really want to go to West Point, Naval Academy, or Air Force Academy. Thank you.

The academies look for scholar athletes with leadership skills. There aren’t any really accurate GPA numbers available from the service academies beyond reports that somewhere in the neighborhood of 70-80% of students winning appointments to the academies in recent years had GPA’s in the top 20% of their HS classes. Does your GPA put you in the top 20% at your HS? Your academic GPA (leaving out gym and art) is roughly 3.15/4.00.That doesn’t really make you stand out as a scholar at this point. To have a chance at the service academies or any reasonably selective school, you’re going to need to bring your GPA up considerably. A 4.0 next year would bring your GPA up to about 3.43. That, combined with fairly impressive SAT or ACT scores would give you a shot. You also need to demonstrate your athletic and leadership chops. Your EC’s don’t scream leader at this point, and while A’s in gym are great, for the most part, the academies look for varsity athletes or better.

As it shows I ran track and played football now. Not sure if you caught that, Thanks for the answer
