Am I still part of the Trojan Family?

Hello Trojans,

I am a 2L who decided to go to the University of Notre Dame for law school. I had a great time at USC and I am a Trojan to the core, however I wanted to expand my network and became a Domer as well. I am trying to make my way back to California after graduation next year and would like to know if going to Notre Dame will shut the doors to the Trojan Family. It sounds a bit ridiculous, but I was in L.A. over the summer and could tell that some older alumni were genuinely less than thrilled about my law school decision. Based on your experience and opinion, should I solely rely on the Notre Dame network to get me back to California? I figured I couldn’t go wrong with this combination of schools.

Thanks and Fight On!

  • A fellow Trojan.

Of course you are! Maybe some old school alumni have old school attitudes of what loyalty is, but I believe you will be welcomed back with open arms by everyone else. Can’t imagine it any other way. Forever a Trojan.

Thanks CADREAMIN.

I hoped that this would be the case. People go from USC to UCLA and vice versa all the time. Didn’t give it a second thought.

However, if you start cheering for Notre Dame football on Thanksgiving weekend, we may have a problem here.

I think you’re still a Trojan if you still feel it inside. I would bet that most people who went to different schools for undergrad and grad feel a much deeper bond with, and fealty to, the undergraduate institution. I know that’s the case for me.

CADREAMIN,

LOL…I would never! I will always root for SC over anything and anyone! Besides, the way things are going over here on campus at the moment footballwise, it doesn’t make it an issue on who to root for.

Prezbucky,

I feel the same way. Undergrad is where the loyalty lies! However, I’d be lying if I told you that I felt indifferent to Notre Dame. All rivalries aside, this is a very special place as well.
