Somebodynew, where did you take the course in MD? My school doesn't offer it and my parents won't take me at all and I neeed to learn how to drive SOMEHOW!!!

I failed my driving test the first time around very earlt into the test. Fortunately, I got to take it again the next day and passed it. Still, my mom was mad at me...she said I can never get anything right the first time. It always take two times for me to pass something. She is kind of right since I failed the test for my permit the first time as well...

My friend was going waaaay too slow when she started (too nervous), so the instructor was like, "Okay, you failed." They didn't even get off of the DMV property yet.

I had another friend who made a right turn too fast that the wheel fell off the curb, so it made a loud thud. He failed right there.

And now it's one month later, and I'm trying to find the perfect time to take my driving test.

I passed my first permit test in Minnesota and took the Behind the Wheel course. Because I didn't have time to practice for driving exam, I didn't take it. When I moved to another state, my permit was expired. I went to DMV to renew my permit. I failed the eye exam because I had poor vision in my right eye and didn't wear glasses. I went back to DMV with glasses and passed the eye exam. I then took the test w/o preparation; I didn't know I had to take it. I failed it on the second or third question out of 30-40 questions. I studied from the driving handbook, and I finally got 100%. I took another Behind the Wheel course and failed the first test (look at my earlier post). So, to sum it up:

2 times taking the permit test
4 times going to DMV to get or renew the permit
2 times taking Behind the Wheel courses
2 times taking driving test.

.........AND, I'm still one of the worst drivers in the nation.

It took me 3 times (2 on the same day) to go to the DMV for my permit because I didn't bring the right material.

My friend accidently hit someone and broke his leg.

^^^ooohh horror story!!

I know a girl at my school who got into an accident during her driving test! That's scary....you are already nervous just because of the test and then an accident to deal with...nice. Luckily she wasn't at fault.

i failed the first time, i made a wide right turn. but i passed the second time w.o losing any points. w007

Umm..also, the guy who tested me was a bum..Don't start that instructors are not out to fail you..A guy who took driver ed with me took his test next day w/ same guy and failed, as did the three other people who went before me..(Seriously, what are the chances?)

princessbell...I took it at Advanced Driving School at the Plaza Del Mercardo (Bel Pre and Layhill Road). There are ton of driving schools in the area (Potomac Driving and DriveSmart are two of the more popular ones).

Oh, if anyone is interested in getting their permit, go to teendrivingcourse.com. I don't think it works for everyone (we all live in different states, so check yours). If it applies to you though, I highly suggest you take it. It's like the homeschooled version of Driver's Ed, and it's very convenient. I finished my course in two days.

I have a promotional code. When you apply, there is a special code box at the bottom. Type in: REF005940. You can get $5 off. I hope this helps some of you out there. =)

it took me 2 times to get my permit. then i had three license tries which i failed all 3 times. so i had to retake the permit test which i got on the second try too. then i took my license test and got it on the 2nd try. hence it took the permit test 4 times and the driver license test 5 times. but i am a way better driver now. i have had my license now for more than 1 year and havent hit anything or gotten a traffic violation.

Damn I cant schedule a test cuz they don't have any openings for when I am available :(

lol i failed my permit test twice. it required no driving just some memorization and i barely passed it my third time. I thought i was failing. Driving test i got my license without much trouble. no accidents or traffic violations so go me! Everyone told em that the permit test was easy and i thought it was easy but strangely i failed it twice. Every time i tell people about that they all laugh asking me how i could be so stupid.

I passed the first time...Tennessee doesn't test you on parallel parking though, thank God. The course (a block around the testing center) is like less than 3 minutes long...heh.

Sheesh. In OH it's easy - they have this weird little turn course/park thingy and then an on-road test that lasts for five minutes.

I never got to practice the parking part, except a few times with my instructor, but I always used this little cavalier that stalled - never in my jeep cherokee. I was convinced I would fail that - amazingly, I did that perfect. I got 5pt off on the road test because we were driving in residential and I was straddling the middle of the lane - there were cars parked on both sides of the street, so I don't know what to do about that.

Just some tips:
My driving instructor was a tall southern guy - he reminded me of those evil sheriffs in movies...my mom gave me a panicked look. I just tried to be really nice - he asked if it was my first time and I said yes. He told me to turn right to go to the course and I turned left - he was just like "ok, lets try that again..."

Even if you are the worst driver EVER, just drive how the state wants you to for those 10 minutes you have the tester in your car. Stop at the stop signs completely, even if there are no cars. Signal. Practice turns beforehand...stay between 20-25mph when in residential...it's not hard. Once you get that guy out of the car, you can drive however you wish to. Trust me, I speed, but I played by the testers rules for the test and passed with a 95, and now I can do whatever (unless a cop is around).

i failed twice (:p) I am a better driver now, but when I was going for my license I wasn't very good at all.

Feel any better?

I go back this Tuesday. I wasn't nervous at all the first time, that's why I went through the sign probably because I was too relaxed that I wasn't really thinking. I'm pretty nervous this time though.
