I totally understand. there are so many people on here that are amazing.

just when you think your GPA is lookin pretty and your SAT scores are up to par, these people make it look like you got no chance! Its like an annoyng reality check haha

Seen a lot of threads about this before. Remember first of all that colleges look at applicants within the context of their schools, and many people here are from extremely competitive private high schools where mostly everyone gets at least a 3 on APs (for example). Also, avoid the chance threads and it’s loads better.

When I first found this website (summer after freshman year- I lurked for a long time), I got really, really freaked out. I came out of an afternoon of reading chance/decision threads with the conclusion that I’d never get into college. So, no, you’re definitely not the only one. =)

The way my friend described CC was “it sucks your soul.” >.<

To untitledlol–Yes, CC appears to be a virtual world for top-ranked students. However, you need to realize that you too have something positive to contribute to a college community. There are thousands of colleges out there. Do your research and for sure, you will find your dream school and the right ‘fit’ with a challenging curriculum. CC is a GREAT RESOURCE for information by mostly well-informed individuals. I visit the site frequently and it has given me great insight to the craziness of the application process.

I’m kidding - stay. You will get used to the God-like students who roam this place. I stayed because, although I was bummed from how crappy I looked in the shadow of CC’ers, there are a TON of resources to learn about anything college admissions/life related.

I somewhat recently discovered this site as a rising senior, and half the time I’m wishing I knew all this sooner and the other half I’m wishing I could just go back to the blissful ignorance of the days when I thought I was a stellar applicant and stood a great chance at Brown
