What is the latest date that I can do it and still receive the 1/2 tuition scholarship?

You are not too late. I do not remember the exact date but my son had to decide between USC, Northwestern and ASU at this time last year. We did not hear form Northwestern until April 1 and he named USC top choice after he had visited the USC explore session for accepted students. Call them. May 1st sticks in my head but I am not sure that is correct.

There is a number on the NMF materials I believe to call

propbably... but i really don't know the rules.

You can change which school you name as your NMF choice up to may 1. Go on their site to print out the form and fax it in.

It doesn't matter, though. The decisions are already made.

It's a pdf, so be warned.

Basically, no, you're not too late. "A Finalist who has reported...by March 1 will be included in the first group referred to that institution for scholarship consideration. Periodically NMSC will notify [colleges] of additional Finalists who have reported (by May 31) the college or university as their first choice."

Most colleges require responses by May 1, so you'll know by May 31 anyway. NMSC knows that many acceptences don't even come until mid-April, so they notify up until the end of May.

Yes, but FA decisions are still pending. If there is NMF money left over they from all the early decidees they may direct some to people who designated USC as #1 after the fact

You are NOT too late. You have until May 1 to notify NM that you wish to list USC as your first choice school. I'd do it this next week.

Thank you! I am already admitted...I am just trying to increase my chances for a better financial aid package.
