I think this question has been up before but let's air it again:
I'm an -87 living in Denmark and currently studying in second grade. High school here ends third grade which means I got one more year left. I already took a break after 9th grade (1 year) and I'm not doing any military service or anything. But still I'm 18 now (turning 19 this summer) and I will turn 20 by the time I get enrolled to Harvard (that will say if I get admitted). So fill me out here is it normal that freshmen are 20 years? I mean some people might choose to take a year off or do military service and start theyr studies after a couple of years but still. I'm a little worried I'll be much older than my peers.

Don't want to be like "blue" in the movie Old School :D

No. Nineteen is pretty old to be a freshman. I'll be seventeen. Most freshman will be eighteen. One of my friends (sorta lol), though, will be twenty or almost twenty when he starts, I think.

The oldest kids will be 20 (or almost), and the youngest kids will be 16. Anthing out of that range is too much of a difference, but I think the 16-20 range is OK, especially for non US applicants.

Alright. But if we consider that I'm running a profitable business, will that make it look better? :)

"Anything out of that range is too much of a difference..."

where the heck did you get that wacko info?

The average first-year will be 18 with most between 17-20...
but so what? There will be a small, but not insignificant number of people who are admiited even though they are in their mid-20's or older.
There are NO AGE restrictions to apply.

Anything out of that age range will be considered differently, I would guess. As I said, most kids will be 17-19, with 16-20 being fine. If a 15 year old or a 21 year old would be freshman applies, the college is almost certainly going to want to know why and will consider the applicant in a different way than your average eighteen year old kid. The other thing is that he will only be twenty when he starts college; he will be nineteen when he applies. I was sixteen when I applied. In that general age range (around 16-20), I don't think it really matters, but outside of it will incure some questions, I'm guessing.

I'm not being confrontational or anything. lol I want Corporate (and me!) at Harvard. We have some big plans together, if I remember correctly, including perhaps some girl hurnting. ;)

When my daughter was a freshman at Harvard there was a guy in her dorm who was something like 24 or 25 years old. He was also a freshman, and like you he was a European who had started his own business. If they like the rest of your application, you age will not be an issue.

Alright thanks for the answers everyone! Really great to know this, I'm going to apply for H after all :) and corranged, no offense bro' we sure got big plans ;)

I am a -87 too but it doesn't stop me from doing what I want to do. And definitely not too old for harvard - maybe it's somehow an advantage (haha) because you are more mature.... ;)
