GPA : 4.05 out of 5.0 weighted (pretty bad I know, that's like top 18%ish in my HS although our school does not rank,. I'm not very good at my humanities classes. But my grades show a very strong upward trend)

SAT: M:800, CR:660, WR: 690(or 650 if a college takes highest combined score)

SAT II's : Math Level II: 800, Chemistry: 800

AP's: BC Calculus-5, Chemistry-5, Statistics-5

EC/Awards:
-two time USA Mathematics Olympiad qualifier (AMC12 score: 129, AIME score: 9)
-American Regions Math League participant (scored a 7 out of 8 in the 2006 ARML, which is like top 50ish that year?)
- AMC (American Mathematics Competition) school winner/high scorer
- 3rd in my state (MA) math competition this year
- member of school math team (possibly captain this year)
- random volunteering/community service (60+ hours) for local non-profit organizations

With terrible grades, not-so-good SAT scores... can I at least go to some community college (or will that be too far of a reach) ? I will write my essay on how I'm just a waste of the limited supply of oxygen on this planet.

kollegkid --- that's a very good idea actually... well I think janitorial work at colleges will be fine... do you think they'll let me be a professional janitor at some top colleges (like MIT)?

OP, seriously you have very little to worry about...USAMO qualifier and ARML top finisher are two very good hooks that top colleges will consider when you apply. I knew of a guy who had around a 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA, but who was accepted to MIT because he was a USAMO qualifier and Siemens Finalist. Grades and SAT scores aren't everything...and based on your stats, you have a decent shot at some very good colleges...so RELAX and stop worrying about how you're a waste of oxygen lol...

You seem to be math/science oriented, so I would say apply to Purdue Univ. in Indiana as a safety. They have an awesome engineering program and the school overall is very good (I'd say around top 50 in US). However I still think you have a decent chance at the ones you listed originally with your USAMO qualifying and such.

so do you ever like have any fun lol or play sports or something? ps please never refer to your grades or sats as terrible because thats plain ridiculous. lets be real, youre not going to cc. but try to do something new so you are more well rounded, just some advice.
