Although I'm only a Sophomore, I would like to know my chances of getting into a good college (I was striving for John Hopkins, Harvard, Yale, and Berkeley as I would like to go into Medicine- although unlikely to get into those :P ) as I stand as a student now. I know it's not all that impressive but I would like to know what I could do to make myself stand out! It's been my DREAM since I was like 5 to get into these schools! I kid you not! (Btw, I want to be a Neurological Surgeon in the future if that does anything). Also, if you would like to list some schools that you think I would be better off in, please do! I'd truly appreciate it :)

HERE I GO:
Gender: Female

Ethnicity: Hispanic/Latino (Don't do much but//hey, it's worth listing I guess!)

Income: I'm not exactly sure but all I know is that I won't be able to pay off pricey tuition in full

Location: CA, USA

High School: -The one built in my area is fairly new and is considered a fairly good school. We are a total of 550 students, are a project based school, but we don't offer any AP courses (they don't want to make some kids seem stupid by not being in AP courses. They believe in "equal education" but there are Honors options available Junior year and I do believe that what we learn here and the work is at AP level)
- In the past, we have had some top university's select students from our school ( A large amount actually) Although we don't get AS MANY Ivy League schools, we still get in. Most students (~50% or so? go to Berkeley, UCLA, MIT, or Columbia; so I guess that's good! We also get into SUPER prestigious programs)

GPA: 4.0 (UW) 5.0 (W) I take college courses elsewhere to get my GPA up. That being said, I'm the only one I know that does that so in my Sophomore class, I am #1 (out of 150 students) but next year i'll be taking all Honors.

ACT/SAT: I haven't actually taken them yet but from my practice tests I think I'm nearing or at a 2000 (since I haven't learned some of the things that are on the test-I'm only a Sophomore and my classes are chosen for me :P )

My grades&courses: They are chosen for me but I still manage to get ahead with the work.
Freshmen year: Math/Physics (I was taking Alg.2/Trig at the time), Advanced Spanish, Humanities, and Challenge Math. I had all A+.
Sophomore year: Math/Chemistry (I'm taking Calculus now on my own), Advanced Spanish, Humanities, and Health Careers( I thought this would look good on a transcript) and for S. 2 I'm switching to Cross Connections (where you go over to the neighboring K-8 school and help tutor kids - it counts as leadership so, WHY NOT :D) Grades: all A+. I have a 120% in Math/Chemistry & Humanities.

Summer: I'm thinking about taking Cellular and Molecular Biology in the community college. Not sure yet :o It's also something I would probably want to major in.

Leadership roles: I don't have a range but I personally think that too much makes your life seem cluttered and tacky. I guess that's just me.
- Summer Bridge (Founder&Leader) Where you help the incoming students see what the student is like, get them comfortable with each other, give them a feel for what High School is like, etc.
- Student Ambassador (I'm applying for VP/P next year. I'm a treasurer now. I have gotten an award for my outstanding tours :)! That was given to only me out of the entire school!) Basically you give tours to people from all over the place and our job is to get them to be amazed by our school (which they all are!) and to explain why we like it so much.
- Swim team (Founder&Captain)

ECs: -I do A LOT of volunteer work at some local hospitals and animal shelters!
- Our school also takes a day off from the year and calls it "community service day" where you meet somewhere with your advisory and help. Last year, we visited a school and completely remodeled it. We painted it, fixed the fields, playground, classrooms, etc. This year we cleaned up the beach! Each day is as long as a normal school day, so it counts as 7 hours (by the end of HS we have 28 hours).
- Cross Connections counts as community service so I will be looking at about 100?or more hours by the end of this semester.
- I'm a competitive horse back rider and i'm beginning to travel nationally :)
- I play soccer on a really good team. It's hard to get in :o
- Art Club!

Teacher Rec. : All my teachers love me as a student and usually come to me for anything :) They think I'm very hard working, determined, and know I will always do my best. I'm a little iffy on my current Humanities teacher because she thinks I'm too hard on myself at times and is questioning how I always "put too much work on my plate" but I finish it anyways. Hmm.)

Counselor Rec: My counselor is my advisory teacher and I'm pretty sure she likes me. For my hospital work application she spoke highly of me :)

Essay: I haven't exactly gotten around to that considering I don't know what the colleges are looking for but I was considering talking about my Senior Project that i'm already starting (it is required for us to have one at our school. It has to do with what you want to do in the future / something you like so I'm choosing to give art therapy to extremely sick/depressed patients. At the end, I want to hold a big auction or something and all the money earned from that will go to help pay their medical bills.) but I think it'd be a tad lengthy. So I might just write about my junior year internship that's also required at my school.

What do you guys think?! I know I wrote a lot but I want to know if there are any flaws that can/should be fixed. Thank you SO much for your time & Have a nice day :)

I bet all the recommendations are fantastic!
