Currently in AEM, I’m a sophomore. Concentrating in business analytics and finance. Open to any questions about Cornell University in general, AEM specifically, recruitment, etc…
How hard is AEM to get into for a normal applicant? I applied there with a 32 act and 3.9gpa with not much of a hook. My grandfather graduated from Cornell engineering. I have heard that I don’t have a great shot rd
Thank you for doing this in advance!
You have decent stats (ACT is a bit low). But its hard for me to say, since AEM is also very fit based. But to answer your question, for the average applicant it ranks up there with the most competitive business schools to get into, with around a 7% acceptance rate. If you post a bit more information I might be able to further answer your question though.
Hi I’m also trying to apply to Cornell AEM (through HEOP). I know that Cornell heavily considers “fit” of an applicant.
My question is will a job (2 yrs exp) as well as an internship (4 yrs exp) at a big RESTAURANT be considered a “fitting” E.C for Cornell AEM? I mean it is a business setting and I did learn some basic business skills…the only prob is that IDK how relevant an experience at a restaurant will be for a business major. I was also on debate/model UN but I’m not sure if that is even related to business (we did spend a long time arguing on international economic policies tho). To make matters even worse, my school doesn’t even offer business related AP courses (ex: Micro/Macro Econ) or ECs.
I now truly feel that I applied to the wrong school at Cornell
Anyways, I would really appreciate if you can give me your insight on this issue. Thank you
