He is the next best thing to being there for yourself. He’s updating his blog and photo gallery every few minutes. He has videos of all those little milestones that every Appointee goes through: …standing in line, crossing the bridge, getting on the bus,…etc. It’s awesome.

Thanks webguy. Your service is priceless. I might actually make it through the day today.

Have you seen your son/daughter yet on the web guy photos/videos? They are fun to see. I'm glad he has more video this year. I also hope he is not limiting access to those of us who did not join by paying $$ Granted it is a good cause but some of us are affected by the economy

I have not seen my D yet. She is just now arriving so hopefully I'll see her soon. Also her sweet B&B family said they would be emailing some photos to me.

I agree it seems like a lot of money to join AOG but I have already received my money's worth this morning. When you think about it, it's only $45 per year.....that's less than filling up my tank of gas :). The videos are awesome. It's hard to see the pictures through the tears, but I'm managing...

You will see her soon. If we are fortunate one of the uppers will provide a color key to the lanyards so you can find them by squadron. If you have an appointtee ask what color lanyard they have so you can find them in the pictures.

Hopefully she'll call home one more time before she gets on the bus. That bus looks like the bus she rode way back in elementary school but something tells me it's not your average school bus ride.

I'm guessing us freebies are getting some or all of what web guy is putting up. This morning so far there are like 5-6 videos and some photos. He's doing awesome. Hope he gets some footprint videos. I e-mailed him that request last night. I also suggested a friday wake up video but I also mentioned that I would "assume" that would be too much for him since the Basics wake up tomorrow is about 4:30 a.m and web guy would have to be there like by 4 am to catch it. Oh my.

It didn't take me but a second to register for free...but perhaps now it takes a bit longer? I think I merely gave 'em my screen name and e-mail and boom I was in...go to the AOG web site...on the left column about 1/2 way down there is the web guy stuff...click on that...then at the top on the left it should say "blog" click on that and you should get the stuff...at least that is how I'm getting it. I think the freebies are to all whether paid or free...but later on he may start limiting stuff...I have no clue.

DS...I agree he "should" be paid...I just can't afford it now...yes...it's not that much...but this economy sucks and I have to watch every last pennie.

Ya gotta wonder whether some of these guys actually just let their hair grow out long and wild for the "attention" they might get for that "first haircut" This guy was from last year...

I remeber this pouring over hundreds of pictures...thinking there she is, oh no that's not her. You will be addicted before you know it. To both twinsmoms potter is hoping the best for them. She hopes the boys cut their hair sometime last week. She is so glad to be home right now though even if it is 105 degrees outside.

DS, yep, twins got their hair cut about 3 weeks ago so they had some fuzz for the AFA to cut! I kept it in a baggie though. DS said I should weave a blanket or something from it!

Saw one twin eating lunch - looks completely miserable, so my heart did a double take, then skipped about six beats! Also saw the back of his head, which I would know anywhere despite years of that "other" hair. Still awaiting pix of the other guy. Hope he looks "not so miserable" when I see him!

The first couple days will be over soon and most of the shock will wear off Fencersmom. I know the pix are sometimes shocking, but they are having fun too, just not much yet.

That's what most people discover after basic is over; it absolutely sucks during it, but once it's over, most people have some pretty funny memories of things that happened. In some ways, I still hate some of my memories of basic (mainly of Jack's), but I remember several other things that happened that cause me to smile now.
