Amazon prime days Coming up

I just used an Amazon locker for the first time ( located at Whole Foods) as I ordered an electronic item. My kids in the city use them occasionally- especially around the holidays.

I used an Amazon locker once when I was on a long work trip and left my Kindle on the first plane. Never saw that again even though I realized it immediately in baggage claim. No way back to the airplane and no one would go look for it, the only thing suggested was to call lost and found. Left messages at the lost and found at that airport and the next airport that plane was going to but never heard back. I wonder what really happens to things left in the back of seat pockets? Anyway, I needed some things I had loaded on that, so I immediately ordered a new one, Amazon delivered it to a locker near my hotel the next day (I think at a Whole Foods), set up the account and everything was there. Very handy.

My very expensive floor cleaner arrived yesterday, and the first impression is very positive! Have to say that Chinese techies will be giving us a run for our money soon. So far, it is a hit. This was the biggest Prime Day purchase for me since the Greenworks e-leaf blower back in 2016 (?) - still use that blower and still love it!

Any hits or misses - based on experience with your Prime Day loot?

I’m waiting for a dog bed I ordered to arrive - Thursday - but my daughter got the same one for their dog…and wasn’t impressed - even though they measured she said it seemed small ….and the material wasn’t what she though…so I’m wondering if it will be a hit or miss for us!

If that bed doesn’t work out, check this one from Costco! I recently posted a pic of my 17-lb cat lounging in one of them in the Pictures… thread. Awesome beds! My grands love to play in them, too, when they come over.

I ordered one box of 12 pens and got 1 pen. I put in for an exchange for the right product, but the seller (not Amazon) just told me to keep the pen and refunded my money.

I haven’t opened up the Aerogarden stuff yet, but am now wondering whether it’s going to stay…

My Kindle won’t come for a few weeks. Probably if I’d ordered the first day it would have come quicker(?). But glad I delayed because it allowed me to refine my choice, spend a little more based on feedback from here and elsewhere.

I ordered 4 things to be delivered tomorrow to get the extra percentage off, but one came in another box and 3 things, all for sewing, are coming tomorrow. The only thing I haven’t received is the Fire tablet. I think it was supposed to come ‘by’ tomorrow, so hoping it does.

I also got an Aerogarden but haven’t set it up yet. It is supposed to rain on Thursday so maybe that will give me a push to grow something.

Last year’s (at CC suggestion) Eufy robovac is still doing a great job. I use it weekly and swear it follows me like a puppy dog. Only amazon prime purchase so far.

Our Eufy (named “Daisy”) is a regular household member now. Even the dog puts up with her. I don’t run it daily though I’m sure I could and she would collect “stuff” - our dog is a shedder. I try and put her upstairs once a week, in our sunroom once a week (dog spends lots of time in there and it is a step lower than the rest of the first floor) and do our main floor twice a week. I’ve also gotten to be an expert at cleaning her out!

Have you owned Amazon Fire tablets before? We bought one a number of years ago and hated it. Maybe things have changed, but it did not allow us to download Chrome so we were forced to use Amazon’s browser, which we did not like using. Also it did not allow apps to be downloaded from anywhere else except the Amazon app store. There were internet articles on how to unlock the Fire tablet in order to open it up to other browsers and app sources, but it seemed tricky, and would void the warranty.

Replaced it with a Galaxy Tab tablet, which we have LOVED.

If things have changed RE: Fire tablets, well that’s good. After our experience with both the Fire tablet and the Samsung, we would never go back to the Fire tablet. With the Kindle app on my Samsung, I don’t miss the Fire at all.

I already had an Aerogarden but bought the DIY pods on prime day. Finally bought my seeds the other day and got it set up again. YEA! The DIY kit was a really good deal. Glad I got it.

The set up is really easy and doesn’t take much time at all. No. I don’t work for Aerogarden.

I haven’t had a Fire tablet, but it was so much cheaper than others that I thought I’d try it. I have a Galaxy/Samsung Nook from many years ago and it is pretty old and I mostly use it for playing Candy Crush. I have a Kindle for reading library books.

Thanks for the heads up. If I don’t like it I can return it. I did get a notice that I would not be receiving it today but sometime next week, so maybe I’ll cancel.

Am loving my weighted blanket.
Heavenly sleep.

My Aerogarden is sprouting! Yea! Lettuce really goes crazy.

My Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 (portable bluetooth speaker) arrived today. I can not believe the sound! Love it! And submersible to three feet (although I doubt I’ll try that on purpose!) Very lightweight and small so especially good for travel.

I was going to wait a little longer before posting my pictures but I am so amused by the aero garden, we have tiny little lettuce plants!

Isn’t it fun?! When it gets a bit bigger just watch the water! You’ll be adding water daily. I really think lettuce and basil are the best as a starting point because they grow fast and taste great!

Any prime day recommendations? I bought a 2400 w hair dryer. Any reccs??

Aerogardens are on sale. :joy:

Bought a new stick vacuum for $140 normally $270 (although I’m sure it’s probably never the latter full price).

Needed one and this one looked decent. I liked that it tells me how much more battery charge remains versus dying in you with little warning!
