AMC 12 School Winner, but my score stinks. Report?

Title basically says it all. I'm currently a student on a gap year. In my senior year I took the AMC 12A and got around an 80 (the exact score was something like a 78), which was the highest for my school. The AIME qualifying score was a 93.0 for 2011, 7 points lower than usual. I have two questions:

1) Is AMC 12 School Winner a big deal (i.e. significant enough to include on an application)?

2) My score isn't so great, but I got the School Winner title because my school does not make any effort to train students in competition math. I bought the AoPS books a couple of years ago but never got the chance to really sit down and make the most out of them, which I think is too bad. Anyway, if the answer to question #1 is "yes", then is it necessary to include my score somewhere on the application? Some schools that I'm applying to specifically have places for them (e.g. Yale, Brown).

Does anyone have any information? I know a good number of people on this site take the AMC tests, so I’m sure there’s someone who knows the answers to these questions…

I would report that… A 80 is okay, but shows you stand out in your environment, which is important.
