So I got this "VIP Application" in my email and I'm a little hesitant. It was from an "Eric Thompson". The email said that this Eric Thompson guy is the Senior Director of Admissions but then he isnt mentioned on AMDA's website but when I recieved all the stuff in the mail there was this business card for Eric Thompson. I don't know, i just dont want this to be a scam... Like he is a real person on other college review sites but there isnt anything about him on the actual AMDA site like I searched for him and nada. If anyone has information it would be greatly appreciated!!

D got that one as well recently. VIP Applications are not unheard of. Schools get your info from ACT and/or SAT sites and then they streamline the application or give you an application fee waiver for you if you look good to them. If you are still concerned and you are interested in their program, give the school a call and ask about the VIP Ap. A few non-audition schools that were interesting gave my D the fee waiver, etc, so that’s how we “balanced” the list with non-audition schools. It was all legit. Gotta love ap fee waivers!

My name is Charlotte Francovalle and I am the Director of Admissions for the American Musical Dramatic Academy in New York. The VIP appliation is a real application, that’s great that you were selected! If you have more questions about it please feel free to call either campus and we will go through it with you in detail. You will need to book and audition and the auditions are listed on our website [AMDA - American Musical and Dramatic Academy - College of Performing Arts](http://www.amda.edu).

So glad to see another college admissions person on this site, so that information is accurate! Curious to see what the criteria are for the VIP application email, as my daughter received one as well.
