Any recommended courses?
Teachers to avoid?
haha thanks

Anthro 2 AC, also takes care of history Breadth. Pretty fun class with Lightfoot, entertaining lecturer. Midterms really easy, just know everything on the review sheet they hand out.

Easy AC courses are not hard to come by. I recommend Music 26AC. You don’t have to know or learn much about music. The class was super easy and having a basic knowledge of American culture helps.

The Southern Border, Geog 159AC (cross-listed with Education and I think Latin American or Ethnic Studies), is a great class, but it isn’t easy. It is taught by two terrific professors, Prof Shaiken and Prof Manz, who really know A LOT about the subject matter. In fact, both of them have personal experience in the subject matter. There are two mid-terms and a final that can be kind of stressful, but you get lots of preparation support from the GSIs. I have to warn that there is a lot of reading and you’ll be sort of bombarded with information, but it is all very interesting, especially if you are remotely interested in Mexico, Guatemala, and US border relations and history.

If you are not a biology major, I recommend IB 35AC.

I also recommend ESPM 50AC, very interesting, very easy class

I advise you to stay away from Anthro 3AC; the anthropology is very biased, and (especially in social anthropology) in order to do well you have to write down what the professors want you to. They are ignorant to science (especially biology).

Thanks guys
i’m actually in the college of chemistry, and since i’ve heard that a lot of the required chem courses are very hard, I don’t want any additional time consuming courses

Can’t you get out of the American Culture requirement with US History AP credits?

The seven breadth(sp?..) req. Can’t be fullfilled from AP credits :)

American Cultures is a university requirement; you cannot get out of it using AP courses. People in the College of Engineering and College of Design have to do it too.
